The short films were directed by György Pálfi, one of Hungary's best-known young and internationally acknowledged directors.

Many young people had a difficult decision to make. To go to the basement with their families and be protected from Soviet tanks or to join their mates fighting in the streets of Budapest and become one of the legendary Lads of Pest. Many took up arms and fought for the country.
