Seven thousand verses are available in this Purana at this time. By the way, in many texts, the number of its verses has been told as twenty-three thousand. The Vishnu Purana describes the five characteristics of the Puranas or varna-subjects—Sarga, Pratisarga, Vamsa, Manvantara, and Vamsanucharit. All the topics are mentioned proportionately.
