Record your metal detecting routes, save finds with photos and locations, and build your own private finds museum. Plan your next dig, explore LiDAR terrain in supported areas, and relive the story behind every discovery.

No account required. Your saved finds, routes, notes, photos and videos are stored on your device, with no DetectBuddy cloud database. We do not store or access your detecting records.

EXPLORE TERRAIN WITH LIDAR

Look beyond the satellite view to explore ground features and earthworks while planning or recording. Adjust the LiDAR overlay to compare terrain with the map beneath.

LiDAR is available in supported areas of England and the United States. Try a five-minute preview. Continued access requires DetectBuddy Pro. Coverage varies by location.

RECORD YOUR ROUTES AND FINDS

Track where you have searched and save finds in context. Add photos, videos, notes, locations, dates, measurements and identification details to create a personal metal detecting logbook.

Session recovery helps you resume recording after interruptions or app restarts. View your routes and finds together on the map.

PLAN YOUR NEXT DIG

Research locations, mark search areas and add plan notes before heading out. Create preparation checklists for your detector, pinpointer, tools and finds kit, then save reusable templates for future trips.

Prepare for permissions, rallies and detecting sessions with your research and kit list in one place.

BUILD YOUR PERSONAL FINDS MUSEUM

Turn coins, relics and artefacts into a collection worth revisiting. Browse your finds in a gallery and organise collections by trip, permission, location, object type, historical period or theme.

Create museum-style display cards with themed layouts and QR codes for sharing, display and reference. Explore example finds and an example adventure to see what you can create.

RELIVE THE ADVENTURE

Revisit completed outings through an interactive replay of your route and discoveries. Return to the photos, places and moments behind each find.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

• No account or login required
• No DetectBuddy server storage for your saved finds or detecting locations
• No ads or cross-app tracking
• Optional App Lock with Face ID or PIN

Import and export supported route and collection data, including GPX routes, to keep your detecting history portable.
