PropNow tells you which HF bands are open right now — and which one to use for the contact you want to make.

Built for amateur radio operators, PropNow combines live space-weather data with real-time FT8/FT4 activity for an honest, at-a-glance read on HF propagation — whether you're chasing DX, activating a park, or working a contest.

WHAT YOU GET

• Real-time conditions for every HF band, 160m through 6m — rated Excellent to Dead, with live spot activity from PSKReporter
• Solar dashboard — Solar Flux Index, K-index, A-index, and estimated MUF, updated continuously from NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center
• Space-weather alerts — get notified when the K-index spikes, an X-class flare hits, or a band suddenly opens
• Geomagnetic storm and solar flare banners — see at a glance when conditions are disturbed and which bands are affected
• Grid-square filtering — scope activity to your location, so a 10m opening across the country doesn't read as "hot" when nobody near you can hear it
• Band detail — MUF margin, skip-zone distance, D-layer absorption warnings, Sporadic-E detection, and the farthest station heard on each band
• Gray Line map — the day/night terminator and your distance to it, for that prime gray-line DX window

PATH PLANNER (Premium)

Plan a specific contact. Enter any destination grid square and PropNow computes the great-circle path — distance, bearing, hop count, midpoint day/night, and foF2 — then ranks every band for that exact path and names the best one to try.

ANTENNA PROFILES (Premium)

Save your station's antennas once and get path-specific recommendations — including the heading to point a rotatable beam — every time you plan a contact.

MADE FOR THE FIELD

Designed for POTA, SOTA, DX, and contesting — fast to read, dark by default, and fully accessible with VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, and Increase Contrast support.

DATA SOURCES

• NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (solar and geomagnetic data)
• PSKReporter (live FT8/FT4 spot activity)
• kc2g ionosonde network (real-time foF2)

No account required. An internet connection is needed to fetch live propagation data. PropNow is free to use; a one-time Premium unlock adds the Path Planner and Antenna Profiles.
