Γεια σας! Read your first Greek word in your very first lesson. The Greek basics are free, with no sign-up.

ohmygreek is a course in standard Modern Greek for English speakers who live in Cyprus or Greece or are about to move there. It is not a tourist phrasebook: we take you from the alphabet to the Greek of everyday life, forms and offices.

HOW IT WORKS
• The path leads the way: the map always shows your next lesson
• Short lessons you can finish while you wait in a queue
• Real conversations: a first phone call, meeting your landlady, a family photo on the fridge
• Explanations in English, Greek words with audio
• The word bank brings a word back just as you start to forget it
• Real texts: forms, notes and messages, the kind you meet in everyday life
• Handwriting check: take a photo of your page, AI marks every mistake on the photo and explains the rule
• A check at the end of every unit: reading, listening, writing and speaking, three lives
• A daily goal and a forecast: the app works out when you will finish A1
• Reminders at the time you choose
• Learn with friends and see who has gone furthest this week
• Downloaded lessons work offline

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
• read and write Greek
• say hello and goodbye
• introduce yourself and say where you live
• fill in a form
• understand numbers and phone numbers
• talk about your family
• say how old someone is and what they look like

YOUR PATH
The Greek basics are free: the alphabet, stress, the sounds English lacks, a first phone call and greetings.
A1 is inside the Path to A2: letter pairs and real reading, numbers and phone numbers, nouns, the verb είμαι and verbs ending in -ω, then two units: “About yourself” and “People and family”. New units come out over time.

NO SUBSCRIPTION
The Greek basics are free for everyone. The Path to A2 opens once and stays with you: new lessons join it as they come out, at no extra cost.
The AI handwriting check uses coins. You get 30 coins when you first sign in, and you can earn more in the app.

No sign-up needed. An account is optional, via Apple, Google or Telegram: it saves your progress, lets you invite friends and check your handwriting.
